This is an indenture dated the 28th April 1759, written in English on vellum in which John Iddins, a timberman of Stourbridge borrows £200 from Jane Orton “of the parish of Oldswinford in Worcester” mortgaging, in exchange, a 5 acre parcel of land which he recently bought from Walford Philips containing a barn, cow house and stable.

It starts with a nice, calligraphic “THIS INDENTURE”.
