Wonderful, unpublished invoice, dated November ye 8, 1773 from Philadelphia. This reveals that chairmaker William Cox has created for Thomas Coats / Coates 6 Windsor chairs, 1 Windsor \"table chair\", and also billed separately for painting the 6 chairs. Coats, (perhaps a former apprentice) has offset the cost by partly bartering a workbench and sashers (likely window sashes).QuakerApprox. 8 x 9-3/4\". Condition: very good, complete, showing some expected wear, old folds, and a couple of areas of iron ink gall loss.
