Arms of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (first introduced on this currency issue) with Ship, Plough and bundles of wheat. Words \"SIX SHILLINGS\" on all four borders. (20 Shillings = 1 Pound Sterling). Paper bears watermark PENSYL/VANIA. Fancy red and black printing made this issue known as \"RED MONEY\".

Serial # 749.Hand signed byPennsylvania colonial officials B. Betterton and William Kenly.

It reads: \"THIS BILL fhall pafs current for SIX SHILLINGS according to an Act of GENERAL ASSEMBLY of the Common-Wealth of Pennfylvania, paffed the Twentieth Day of March, in the Year One Thoufand Seven Hundred and Seventy-feven. Dated the Tenth Day of April, A.D. 1777.\"
