The history that lies behind the creation of this coin-the symbolism, and motifs-are probably the most interesting of all the coins that I own at this time. The group known as the Free Masons, and many a theory associated with them, is all over the Net these days! They are blamed for many of the problems in the world today! In fact, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and a few other historic individuals that signed the U.S. Constitution were Free Masons!

This coin was circulating in Britain and the New World around that time at the end of the 18th century. Quite possibly, it passed through the hands of some very interesting individuals!

THIS COIN\'s HISTORY IS VERY INTERESTING, and so much is connected with the ideas and principles that are expressed on the coin, that were popular during the period called the “Enlightenment.” It is rich in symbolism, showing motifs that refer to a complex, ancient mythology. A \"G\" for God, the “all seeing Eye,” right above the “G”, at the top of the inside of triangle(pyramid), and a compass at the bottom right, inside of the Pyramid. There is a lot more expressed on this late 18th Century coin, but too much to get into here. Researching these ideas, and the Free Masons, is half the fun of owning a piece like this!

One of the photos Included show the coin surfaces as lighter than it actually is, because the added light, reveals-details, making it even more clearly visible. It has a chocolate toning-patina- and is rare in this grade of MS-65~graded and authenticated by NGC(Numismatic Guarantee Corporation)-one of the top two third-party grading services! It is rare in this condition, and It is in excellent condition, as the NGC Grade suggests! Judge for yourself!
