In this letter dated 1795, New York, Abraham Dureyee has written to Elias Boudinot regarding an impending suit coming about some property sold in legacy and who may have the clear title...if the alarm of sickness should prevail in this city I can not leave Mrs. Duryee and the family...another broker at Millstone said they have found some new papers, though the papers of Mr. Mercer should be with you....letter all in the hand of Abraham Duryee

Abraham Duryee, was born May 8, 1743, at Fort Hamilton, and died March 24, 1814.. He was a member of the first Colonial Council, one of the Sons of Liberty, a member of the New York Revolutionary Committee of Safety, and one of the famous Committee of One Hundred in 1775.

Elias Boudinot  was a lawyer and statesman from Elizabeth, New Jersey who was a delegate to the Continental Congress (more accurately referred to as the Congress of the Confederation) and served as President of Congress from 1782 to 1783. He was elected as a U.S. Congressman for New Jersey following the American Revolutionary War. He was appointed by President George Washington as Director of the United States Mint, serving from 1795 until 1805.
