This is a rectangular Silver Boxwith hinged cover,decoratively hand-engraved outside with a floral motif, giltwithin.Hinged lid fits neatly.The sides have a band of 8 parallellines made of dots close together,and a double band of same at top and bottom. Nice.
2 5/8\" by 1 3/4\"; or 6.5 by 4.5 cm1.7 troy ounces.I think that Tobacco boxes did not have a hingedlid, but snuff boxes did, and that Tobacco boxes were larger.So, likely this is a snuff box, then. Or for whatever you wish.
