1829 Dutch Hinged Round BoxSilver Standard 833/1000 Solid SilverMarked for Utrecht in the Netherlands2\" diameter, about 50 cm.Weight .8 troy ounces.
This ribbed silver box has an applied gold shield with no monogram on it.It is ribbed top and bottom.Closes with a little gap, as the hinge is loose.I have not adjusted or cleaned it, it is from an estate on consignment.
The marks in side are a right-facing lion passant with a 2 beneathhim, for 833/1000 standard used 1814-1953.The is an outlined script u, for the year 1829.The maker\'s mark in a square, I cannot make out.
Could be a Tobacco or Snuff or Patch box. Owner\'s motes say it was originally bought in Bermuda.Happy to combine with my other lots, happy to ship internationally.
