This is an antiqueEnglish sterling silver master salt spoon by Mary Chawner.Mary Chawner was the daughter, sister and wife of silversmiths.When her husband William Chawner died in 1834, the widow Chawner took over his business to support herself specialising in flatware making.
It has a lightly gilded bowl and is monogrammed with a family crest.

Thespoonmeasures 4.2\"long and weighs18grams.

It is in goodcondition considering it is almost 200 years old with onlylight signs of wear.

On the reverse it is marked with English hallmarks from London with a date cypher for 1834 and the maker\'s mark MC.
