Handsome vinaigrette with a delightful, undamaged pierced and engraved grille.
Hinges are both in excellent working order.
Both lid and grille have very good positive closure.
Overall, it is in very good or better condition.
Gilded interior and grille.
Reeded sides, finished at top and bottom finished with cast foliate mounts and centered with engine-turned panels, vacant rectangular cartouche on top.
It is very tactile, having asubstantial feel to it.
Only some very minor abrasions exist, namely two scratches on the top side. Any and all of the few detrimentsare clearly detailed magnified photographs supplied with the listing.
All things considered this vinaigrette is in overall fine condition and remains an exceptional example of silversmith\'s art and craftsmanship of the William IV period.
Clearly hallmarked for Sterling Silver, Birmingham, William IV, 1834, and the maker\'s mark of Thomas Shaw.
