A One Dollar note from The Clinton Canal Bank , one of the many wildcat banks in Michigan around the time of Statehood, 1837 .
This note is an 1837 note, fully issued and signed. There are still remnants of the Clinton River Canal , which was only a few miles into a journey of many miles when work stopped. Some where in the process, people were swindled out of their money, as that was the purpose of most of Michigan\'s currency issuing bank. The book by Bowen is still the best authority.
In circulated condition, no rips or tears but there are some signs of paper weakness and a few nips along the edges. More scans will be posted. The back side is blank. Will be in a fine Denly holder.Fully returnable. FREE SHIPPING if more than one sale won in any week.
