Avery goodexample of this wonderful comicenvelope (actually a lettersheet) by John Leech, Fores Comic No 1. This was the first Mulready caricature to appear in England, in May 1840, and proved highly popular. This complete example is used from Dulwich to Uppingham 11 September 1840 and has a fine London tombstone cancel.Usual peripheral nicks and bends, but in excellent condition for these. A wonderful illustrated cover and a rare exhibition item.
