Published by Lindsay and Blakiston, Philadelphia, 1847. 208 pages. 6" x 7". This biography is embellished with eight hand colored scenes from the life of Dr. Franklin. First published in 1846 with black and white plates
CONDITION: SOLID: There is wear / soiling and foxing. The hinges are intact. There is a presentation dated 1850 on the front fly leaf. The back fly is clipped. All the color plates are vivid. They show Franklin the Statesman, Tallow Chandler, Printer, arriving in Philadelphia, His Own Porter (with wheelbarrow), doing the kite experiment with his son, signing the Declaration, and The Philadelphia Library. Hand colored copies of this book are rare..Please contact me with specific questions.
