1850 Antique Poland Polish Silver Jewish Sabbath Candlesticks signed Goldman 12:
$1500.00

These are the best silver Sabbath candlesticks you can buy, here are reasons why:

1)The age. At best, you can find silver candlesticks from Poland signed by Jewish makers that only go back as early as 1880. Those have the \"84\" silver quality hallmark. These candlesticks have the 1840 - 1850 era \"12\" silver quality hallmark.

2)The weight. I have handled countless silver Warsaw candlesticks from the 1880\'s and 1890\'s, and they are quite light in weight. These candlesticks, while hollow like the aforementioned later candlesticks, are much heavier, as the silver is very thick in the bulbous stem and the bulbous candle holder at top. Each candlestick weighs 13 ounces and stands 11.25 inches high.

3)The condition. I have not polished these up, and leave that to the buyer, and of course they will polish up beautifully. There is no damage whatsoever to either candlestick, including no dents, no dings, no cracks, no splits, no bends, and no repairs. I can\'t even find scratches. They are in stunning shape.

4)The Jewish maker. The 1880\'s and 1890\'s Poland candlesticks that you can be sure were made for the Jewish audience in Poland, are signed by Jewish makers such as Szkarlat, Szekman, Reidel. Made in tremendous quantities, plenty have survived, and command prices in the $1,500 - $2,500 range at sales (and when sold, 20% to 25% buyers premium are added to the winning offer, and sales tax applied when paid for in person). More for retail antique stores.

My candlesticks are signed by an \"A. Goldman\", who of course was Jewish and made these for the Jewish audience in Poland. But you just don\'t find them anywhere ---- no sales, no antique stores, nothing. Likely only a very small amount were made at the time and less survived.

5)The value. For all the reasons I just mentioned, these are rare.

That\'s it. If you want the best, these are the best. And once they\'re gone, you won\'t see another pair.
