Up for sale is a nice obsolete note from the pre Civil War era. This is a $20.00 series B note from The Bank of the State of Georgia, Savannah, Athens branch. This note is hand dated Nov. 11, 1851, hand numbered # 115 and is hand-signed. The branch name has been written in. Signatures and date are easily readable. The reverse is blank-backed. A nicely engraved design by Danforth, Wright & Co., Philada & New York featuring several large buildings and a monument. This large size note is in an Extremely Fine circulated condition and looks nice. Several pinholes are noted as well as some staining on the reverse.
