Émile deBonnechose(1801 - 1875) was an historianand poet, whosepiece \'La Mort de Bailly\' wonthe French Academy prize.

Histoire de France saw great popularity during the nineteenth century, reaching a sixteenth edition in 1874.

CONDITION

In full red leather bindings with gilt crests to front boards. All edges marbled.Externally, smart with some mild edgewear,light discolouration to theboards and rubbing to the spines. Hinge starting slightly toVOL II but remains firms.Internally,excellent with some slight spotting and yellowing to the freeendpapers and title pages. Otherwise, clean and bright. Firmly bound. OVERALL: VERY GOOD INDEED.
