1860 John J Audubon Large Birds of America Lithograph by J Bien Hooded Warblers:

This item is an original 1860 Julius Bien edition chromolithograph from the Birds of America. Images are 18 by 24 inches and in thin maple frames. The glass has been removed and replaced with Plexiglas which makes them lighter and has UV protection. This print is of the Hooded Warbler, plate 71, No. 13-5. Signed Audubonin the lower left. The paper is fairly clean and bright for 155 years old. There is a very faint water stain along the very top of the paper sheet. Sheet has a soft crease across the width one third of the way down the sheet. This edition is the only larger size bird prints issued by the Audubons while alive other than the first 1830\'s edition. This edition was suspended due to the Civil War and never completed after only 100 or so images. Many of these prints have offsetting of the colors that makes them look blurry but this copy looks very good and crisp with no offsetting.
