Margaret Julia Mitchell (1832–1918), a.k.a. Maggie Mitchell, was a popular American actress of the Civil War era, and a friend and paramour of the actor and Lincoln assassin John Wilkes Booth. Photographer Charles Fredricks introduced the carte de visite to America, and was known for his celebrity portraits.
