This July 13th 1862 letter is from F. Saunders, Jr believed to be a Francis Saunders, Jr in the 42nd Virginia Regiment. It is to his brother. He tells them \"We are stationed now about 4 miles north of Richmond near the Central Rail Road. Gen Jacksons division of the army now contains a good many Brigades. Gen Ewells Division, Gen Whiting and we have Gen Early\'\'s Brigade with us. \" \"Pompey is very sick with an attack of cow fever, he has been sick some two days. I expect to send him up to Lynchburg on Tuesday. Talks about the price of Tobacco and wants his brother to sell his, etc\"I heard yesterday that Gen. Hayes was getting on finely massing an army,etc The new call is for all men between 35 & 45 will greatly form the new size of his army. As there are scarcely any exempts I fear I shall Lose Mr. Black.\". Shipping includes insurance.
