Great!! Civil War Military Document, completely handwritten and signed by Union Army Colonel Frank Jones, Commander of the 31st New York Volunteer Infantry.
He was also one of the early “Pioneers of Baseball.” Playing for the “Brooklyn Excelsiors” before the outbreak of the Civil War. After the war, he was the Team President of the “Washington Nationals.” He is credited with bringing baseball to the National consciousness.
This great “ War dated” document is in regards to a request by Colonel Jones to detail several enlisted man to recruiting service.
It’s approximately 8 x 10 inches.
This excellent collectible would make a fantastic addition to any Civil War, Military, Historical, Sports or Baseballrelated collection.
