An interesting cover sent from Lynchburg, Virginia to Amherst, Virginia. Franked with a Confederate States of America Scott #12, the 10¢ Jefferson Davis stamp from 1863-4 which is tied to the cover by a hard to read Lynchburg, VA. postmark dated January 20 (no year date). Enclosed letter datelined Lynchburg Jan 18, 1864. This cover measures 135mm x 77mm. See scans for condition - damaged flap.
