Rare and original, 1870\'s Native American Sioux Indian Stereoview Photograph of a group of mostly identified Sioux Chiefs and Braves with three white Indian Agents. The View is titled in the negative \"103. Group Siouxs(sic)\" and identified as being from a generic Series of Views titled \"American and Foreign Views / New Educational Series\".

This wonderful Native American Indian Stereo Photo measures approx. 7\" by 3 1/2\" and is mounted on its original, flat, buff colored card mount. It is a wonderful view of 10 Sioux leaders with three white men. The group is posed for the photographer in front of a field camp tent. At least three of the Sioux men wear Presidential Peace Medals and the warrior seated front and center (Low Dog) displays a tomahawk while another holds an eagle feather fan. The Sioux in this Photograph have been identified by researchers as: front row from the left, sitting are Gall, Crawler, Low Dog/Crow King, Running Antelope and Rain-in-the-Face. In the back row standing from the left, is Louis Sitting Bull, Chase Walking, Yellow Hawk, Fool Bear and Brave Thunder. Also, Spotted Eagle is believed to possibly be in the back row, second from left. .

This very rare and wonderful, original Stereoview Photograph is in very good condition. The Photographs exhibit sharp focus but are somewhat low in contrast and somewhat faded. While both of the Photos are generally clean and crisp, there is light soiling and light edge wear to the card mount.
