Struck to the extent of 1,376 coins, the 1871-CC Seated dollar is the lowest-mintage and second-rarest issue among the four Carson City emissions in the series. Osburn and Cushing estimate that a mere 100 pieces survive.This Carson City key is cleaned and retoned but otherwise free of bothersome problems. Hints of reflectivity remain in the peripheral fields amid mottled russet and olive-gold toning.
