Original circa 1873 stereoview photo of a beautiful young girl holding a German made paper mache santa riding a donkey, a toy doll, & a whip. The photo has it’s original colorful tinting. There is some softness in the contrast around the doll’s face. The painter dropped a small spot of blue watercolor paint on the bottom center of the left photo when they were painting the blue on the doll’s clothing. The santa riding the donkey is facing toward the girl. The view is marked at the left edge “Copyright 1873 by F. G. Weller”.
An interesting & scarce photo. The stereoview photo is on a buff colored rounded corner mount that is very slightly curved. The mount measures 6 15/16 inches long by 3 15/32 inches from top to bottom.Condition: The mount has minor wear at the edges, two corners have slight bumps, & there is slight soiling.Please examine the photos closely & purchase based on your own judgement as to condition & value.
