A rare antique Jean Pouyat French Limoge hand painted at the J.P.L. factory. Saucer is in perfect condition no chips, no cracks, no stains, and no repairs. The delicate and colorful pattern also shows no wear. The cup has one very small chip but it is not a break off by the rim. There is gilding wear on the handle but gilding on rim and base look almost intact. No cracks or repairs and the pattern is also in very good condition. There is one mark of discloration on the base of the cup. It looks to be a paint drip most likely from the manufacturer.
Bottom is marked twice.The mark in green is \"JP over L\" and is under the glaze. This mark wasfirst registered in 1875 and used until 1890.The mark in red \"Decor over JP over L\" is an over the glaze decorating mark and was used from 1875 to 1890.In 1891 the country of origin was added. The markings confirm this cup and saucer to be between 122 and 138 years old..
