This is for a first edition Boyd\'s Battery by J.C. Boyd dated 1879.The book is 198pp in gilt flexible cloth. It is 4\"x6.5\", 18mo and in excellent condition. Boyd\'s battery is market \"Patent Jan 17, 1878 so the book was created a year after the batteries release to market this electro-medical device. Boyd in his book advised to be aware of imitators. He called the galvanic battery, \"The blood is the life\" with \"the efficacy of electricity?. He claims that \"Nearly all diseases effectually cured by Boyd\'s miniature galvanic battery!\". Also, the book contained a paper with Professor Boyd\'s name and address. Was this a copy owned by Boyd himself or was the owner a colleague in contact with him? The Boyd battery that is included is 1.2\" (3cm) in diameter. The Richardson\'s magneto-galvanic battery is 1.5\" (3.7cm) in diameter. This is an extremely hard to find book , especially in such fine condition.See images for condition. Questions are welcome.
