I was lucky enough to find this great piece in an estate sale last week.
This listing is for a Huge French Sevres bisque or parian porcelain bust of
Marie Antoinette, on an ormolu bronze base. It stands an impressive 35\" tall,
and is 18\" wide, and 12\" deep! She must weigh 35lbs or so!
The quality of this piece is great, from the details of her face, and hair, her clothing, which
sport some Fleur De Lei, lace, and tassels, the detailed flowers on her head, and base,
right down to the bronze ormolu base. This Sevres bust is marked in the back with the
interlaced L\'s, and was made in the late 19th century.
Considering the size, age, and weight of this, the condition is fantastic.
It is perfect, with the exception of a few of the applied flowers on the base, in the back,
which are missing. Extremely minor, especially since they are on the back side.
While I have owned similar Marie\'s in the past, I have only seen one or two ever,
that are as big as this one. She just needs a good cleaning, and she is ready to go!
This is a very impressive large 19th century antique piece of Sevres porcelain!
