Offered here is a very fine HISTORIC DOCUMENT PERTAINING TO A 1880 TRANSFER OF LAND IN MAURICE RIVER TOWNSHIP, CUMBERLAND COUNTY, SOUTH JERSEY.On February 13, 1880 EPHARIM P. SHARP and his wife ABIGAIL C. SHARP of ATLANATIC CITY, NJ sold to EDWARD L.B. NALER of UPPER TOWNSHIP, NJ a piece of property located in MAURICE RIVER TOWNSHIP, NJ for $1,000. This property was located on the road that led to HEISLERVILLE, NJ.

EPHARIM P. SHARPE (b.1826) married ABIGAIL ADELIA CHANCE (b.1831, d. 1902) AROUND 1848. Her parents were SETH CHANCE and REBECCA SHROPSHIRE of Cumberland County.

This is an excellent example ofan early South Jersey deed, survey descriptions, and signatures oflocal citizens.

The document-indenture has four sides of writing/printingand it measures 14 inches tall by 8-1/2 inches wide, doubled when opened. It has a few light folds in the center and corners and there is apaper sealaffixed on the inside. Many signatures. Matting and framing the document will hide some of the flaws. Regardless, it is a very fine piece of early EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP - PLEASANTVILLE, NJ HISTORY.(NOTE: PLEASANTVILLE BROKE AWAY FROM EHT IN 1888). See photos for additional details.
