Title page does not list author asoriginally Thoughts werepublished anonymously. However, the authorship soon became known and JohnKeble was appointed theChair of Poetry at Oxford as a result of this text.

John Keble was an Englishchurchman and poet. He was one of the leaders in the Oxford movement and KebleCollege, Oxford was named after him.HisChristian Year was met with an almost unparallelled acceptance.
