The album contains 19 pages, 18 that have open mats that will hold pictures. There 53 vintage and sepia toned photos inside the album, There are 10 pages with 20 openings for single photos of various shapes and sizes and 8 pages that hold 8 - 3\" x 2\" pictures, 4 on each side totaling 64 of the small openings. The index is blankDue to the age of the album, there are approximately 8 of the mat openings that have paper damage of some sort. There are also some small areas of browning or spotting on 2 0r3 of the pages.There is some visible wear to the covers top and bottom edges due to age and normal handling. The catch closes and opens as it should, metal has some pitting and is dated to the patent on the metal hinge of the album - June 6, 1882. Iowa family, possibly around Newton, With last names Doane and Thownsend written in faint writing on a few.The album is approx. 11\" X 9\" by 2.5\"
