A scarce edition of Malot\'s story of the courageous orphan, Genevieve, as she finds a way out of her working class life.

Hector Malot was a French writer who became known for his children\'s novels detailing the hard life of orphans. His most notable work, Sans Famille is about a young orphan, Remi, who is sold to a street musician.

Much like Sans Famile, La Petit Soeur also explored the life of an orphan worker, who helps a penniless Earl dying of hunger and finds her fortunes changed.

Volume I only.

CONDITION

In a half calf binding. Externally, sound with some marks to boards. Bumping to corners and head and tail of spine. Internally, firmly bound with very light foxing to pages throughout. Overall: VERY GOOD.
