Painted end of the 19th century with egg tempera oil paints on a wooden panel covered with levkas (gesso, special priming).
The icon is not restored. Back was treated against wood borers. There are two small areasof a few black pinpoint discolorations consistent with its age. White speckleson closeups are light reflections and not paint loss or damage!

Mother of God is depicted in whole-length symbolizing the Ecumenical Church. The original icon made it\'s apparition at XVII century when it healed the sister of Russian Patriarch Joachim. The feast is on 24 October (6 November). Image at the left depicts Saint Nicolas the Miracle Worker the bishop of Myra in the IV century. He is one of the most popular Saints in the world. The feasts are on 9(22) May and 6(19) December. Image at the right depicts the Holy Martyr Empress Alexandra (+314). She was the wife of the emperor Diocletian and mother of the Holy Martyr Valeria. She suffered during the persecutions of the emperor Licinius (313-324). The feast is on 26 April (9 May).
