We are pleased to present a pair of antique plaques, dated 1889 from the yacht Titania with inside-painted designs. They show the burgees of the NYYC crossed with what must be the personal burgee ofCharles Oliver Iselin, flanked by two nautical Flags with anchors. They are HEAVY, with large glass domes. Each weighs 2-pounds. The frames measure 5.875\" by 6.875\". They have a stand on back, or a hook at top for wall-mounting. The felt around the frame is mostly worn away. The metal shows some wear and loss to gilding. One of the plaques is in very good condition, with some light spots of lifting (but no losses) to the paint. The other looks like it was dropped, with a large flake off the bottom edge, and the metal/glass lifting a little out of the frame. I think an interior nail popped out. lso, the paint shows some overall whiteness from lifting but again no losses. A great pair with great history.Please see pics.

Titania was owned by Charles Oliver Iselin (June 8, 1854 – January 1, 1932), an American banker and yachtsman who was captain of racing yachts that won the America\'s Cup three times. Charles was considered to be one of the greatest American Yachtsmen of his time, participating in and winning six consecutive America’s Cup races: 1887, 1893, 1895, 1899, 1901 and 1903.
