Exceptionally rare and beautiful, original ca1890\'s Parian Bust of President Abraham Lincoln by the Monmouth Pottery Company of Monmouth, Illinois. This outstanding Lincoln Bust measures approx. 10\" tall and 7 1/4\" across at the shoulders. It features an impressed mark on the bottom that reads \"Compliments of / Monmouth Pottery Co. / Monmouth, Ill\" and a second impressed mark on the back that reads \"Stewart-Ericson Co. / Monmouth, Ill.\".
We have been told that this beautiful Bust is exceptionally rare and we have been able to uncover only one example that has sold at sale in recent years - it was sold in April of 2012 for over $5,000.00 - that example had a crack at the bridge of Lincoln\'s nose. This very rare and very beautiful Bust of Abraham Lincoln is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, wear, or physical damage of any kind and with no repairs. The surface is quite clean overall with a few tiny spots of soiling - we have made no effort to clean the surface and leave that task up to the next owner. The Bust is unconditionally guaranteed to be original and of the period - manufactured by the Monmouth Pottery Co. in the late 19th century.
