Very rare and very beautiful, ca1890\'s Native American Sioux Indian Bead Decorated Tobacco Bag. This outstanding late 19th century Sioux Beaded Tobacco Bag measures approx. 27\" long overall (including the hide fringe) and 5\" wide. The bead decoration is stunningly beautiful and very well preserved and while the pattern of the decoration on both sides of the Bag is the similar, the color scheme is different.

This wonderful, Sioux Indian Tobacco Bag is sinew sewn by hand with spot stitched beadwork decoration featuring red, white, blue-green, and dark blue trade beads. The entire Tobacco Bag is brain tanned hide including the throat and the bottom edge features a long, buckskin fringe. There is a thin border of trade cloth at the throat opening and both sides of the Bag are bead decorated with a similar pattern but using the different color combination of beads.
