Description

Fine qualityVictorian sterling silverpierced repousse bowl byAmerican maker Gorham. Victorian floraldécor with latticepierced openwork. Script monogram.Rarely seen example.

SIZE: Approximately 8 1/2\" x 6 1/4\". Depth is about 1 1/4\". Weighs about170.5 grams or5.48 troy ounces.

MARKS: On underside of base: Gorham symbols in use late 19th century, Sterling,890 (pattern number?) and the Gorham date code of 1891 (head of a lion).

CONDITION: Antique item. Retains a warm patina. Expect tarnish, mainly in deep recesses. There are anumber of small noticeable impressions and dentson the flat unadorned area, typical of pieces of this age and design. Faint evidence of worn gold wash, much more visible in the photos than it is in real life.Presents beautifully! PLEASE SCAN DOWN FOR CLOSE UP PHOTOS.
