Magnificent 18th c. Chinese export Baluster Vase, W/ English State House scenes - circa 1780-1790
This is a superb piece of 18th century Chinese export. The work on this baluster vase is magnificent not to mention the rare scenes of an English State house on both sides. The detail of the scenes is so fine and the \"clobber\"work on this vase is spectacular as well. The vase has a tiny hairline on the inside of the rim and does not come through of notice to the exterior.For the quality, age & 200 years of use; it is perfect condition for the age. Very rare find in a baluster vase with its original cover. Due to their design, they were easily knocked off and broken. Vase lid has rim chips as you can see in the pictures and old repairs.*But what is really rare is the lion/dog on top is magnificent. Small (4) scenes are hand painted on each side.
