Description:
This is a wonderful antique Georgian period English pewter plate food warmer. The plate is hollow and has a port where hot water would have been poured in to warm the plate. The plate is flanked by two hinged handles. The base bears the \'touchmarks\', a \'crowned X\' -a sign of quality, and marked \"Super Fine Hard Metal\" with a \'crown and lion\' logo above and stamped \"London\" to the base.Pewter is notoriously difficult todatebut the marks indicate that the piece was made circa the Georgian period. A wonderful collector\'s piece of pewter ware from the 18th Century.Date:
The plate food warmer dates from the 18th Century.

Condition:
The plate food warmer is a little dented and battered but retains its original handles, and the port does open, this only adds to the charm, character and authenticity of thepiece, having a wonderful patina only achieved with age.
