Circa 1920\'s ~ 1940\'s. Beautiful hanging wall mirror in excellent, used condition.
This one-of-a-kind piece displays a ribbon design with crescent moon and floral motive. Solidmahogany and most likely hand-carved, this is a very stunning wall mirror and demands respect in any room setting.
I\'ve owned this mirror for more than 30 years, and can honestly say I have never found anything similar or as unique as this mirror. I classify the design as art nouveau but it has influences from art deco and the federal period, but the whimsical design of the top shows a playfulness that we often don\'t see inthis era. The craftsperson that created this piece had fun :)
Mirro weighs over 20 LBs. Mirror measuresapproximately28 inches wide at its widest point and 37 inches tall from top of design to bottom curve.
I\'ve been restoring andrepairingantiques for than 30 years. 7 years ago, Icarefullysanded and cleaned the wood surface with very finesteel wool and gave the wood a clearlacquercoat to protect the integrity of thepiece, so the mirror is ready to hang
All original -- the mirror is most likely silver backed and finished; hangers and wire have been on the mirror since I purchased it, and have never been changed or messed with. Mirror surface shows a couple of pock marks but they are not large enough ornoticeable enough tophotograph.
The mirror will be carefully boxed and protected for shipping or you can save shipping cost by picking it up.
