Cut glass, crystal collector has downsized and is selling part of his collection. Here are two small bowls purchased from an antique dealer. Has been ID\'d as American Brilliant from the early 1900\'s. Excellent condition--no chips or cracks or scratches. Lovely sawtooth edges; deeply cut leaves; and intaglio (design engraved down into glass) butterfly, bird, and flowers--superb craftsmanship. Small bowl measures 2.75 inches tall; 5.5 inches by 4 inches on top and 3.25 inches by 2.25 inches on bottom. Larger bowl measures 2 inches tall; 8.5 inches by 4.75 inches on top tapering down in size with a gently curved bottom. Beautiful display pieces. Will ship insured for price paid.
From a reputable response: \"This is American Brilliant and the pattern is both intaglio and cut; pictured in Pearson\'s Vol 2 Encyclopedia of American Cut & Engraved Glass pg. 48. Pearson identifies it as similar to \"Peonies & Butterflies\" (pat\'d March 14th 1916) by R Haley and cut by the United States Glass Co. IMO; the leaves & bird plus flower look more like patterns in a 1916 Standard Engraving & Cut Glass Co. catalog put out by LABAC study group. Standard Glass was located in Minneapolis, MN.\"
