The 9th Inf. regiment was named the \"Manchus\"in honor of this units service during the Boxer Rebellion and was made officialJune, 1926 to all troops of the 9th Inf Regt.\"Keep Up the Fire\" was uttered by the Regt. commander, Col.Emerson H. Liscum, who was killed at the assault of Tiensin, China in July, 1900.
