(in themiddle of the French Revolution)
Then, the COURTOIS COMPANY, moved out tosettle the Workshops
located inParis 88, Rue des Marais, in 1856.
AntoineCourtois is the Brand in France the most famous
of all theBrass Manufacturers
for boththe XIXth century & beginning of theXXth Cy.
In 1881,the Courtois Company was running with 25 workers only,
but amongthe skillest for a Production which was always perfect.
Still today, the French Antoine CourtoisCompany
is a verywell-known and famous BRAND.

In deed, asper the numerous awards won by Antoine Courtois
at thebeginning of the XXth cy - always engraved on the bell
there iseasy to identify the year.
Presently,on the bell, the last medal mentioned is St-Louis 1904.

This French Horn have some dents, dingsand scratches.

The first top button is different from the others.
We consider this French Horn is in a rather good shape.
The piston valves are in good shape
(with some natural oxydation tracks)
and are functioning perfectly.
Every slide is removeable.
The compression is very good .
The sound isfull,clear and bright,
with a very nice warm and full color,
really specific of Courtois sounds of that period.
The specific sound of the French Ancient Instruments...
This French Horn is a very nice and pleasant historic instrument
perfectly playing.
