This is a rather magnificent book. A guide to Portsmouth and Southsea whilst also taking into account such gems as Carisbrooke Castle and Rowlands Castle Golf Club House. It is stuffed full of period adverts and photos of Edwardian shop fronts and, of course, images of the city. There are also three long pull out images - see photos.
The book has been bumped around quite a lot in its life and there are old tape repairs on the back of the three pull outs as well as some rough page edges and so on but this is a scarce survival and we have been selling Portsmouth books a long while and this is one we don\'t remember having for a long time.The Petersfield Bookshop is an antiquarian and secondhand bookshop made of actual bricks and mortar - one of a dying breed! We are coming up on 100 years old as a business and we always welcome personal contact with our customers. Being a little old fashioned, we don\'t open on a Sunday but otherwise you could come and find us in our large and rambling shop any day between 9.00am and 5.30pm.
