Trained as the Renssalaer Polytechnic, Bogue was an accomplished civil engineer who filled his report with pertinent ideas and details concerning Arterial Highways, a Civic Center, Park Improvements, Municipal Decorations, Harbor Improvements, Port of Seattle possibilities, Transportation options and more, nicely illustrated throughout with photographs, plans and maps. An historic document, this 1911 Plan of Seattle, Report of the Municipal Plans Commission submitting Report of Virgil G. Bogue is now offered for your consideration.
Condition notes: Good. This quarto, measuring 11 ¾ inches by 8 ¾ inches, is bound in wrappers; these are chipped and somewhat torn, as is the spine. Of the 20 maps required in the back pocket, 3 are lacking (#’s 6, 14 & 15). The overall tenor of the text, illustrations and maps in this 1911 Plan of Seattle is very good.
