NOTAREPRINT (Read Below)

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch Issue of April 16, 1912 is often seen being offered by sellers on as an original, when in fact it is a reprint. It is one of the more common reprints, but can be easily identified as such. There are two different variants. One has "Reprint" on the masthead on the right hand side immediately above "Price One Cent". The other has "Reissue" on the left hand side between the issue number and "St. Louis". Both Reprint variants are further identified by an asterisk proceeding the issue number. These reprint copies were never produced to deceive, only a souvenirs. Unfortunately some sellers do not do their homework before offering them for sale.

This issue does not have any of those elements identifying it as a reprint and is a scarce original copy! The paper is appropriate age-toned newsprint that is in very good condition w/ only a couple faint stains and light wear to the fold.
