I have to say that the first thing Inoticed about this diary is the beautiful writing and also printing. Itactually could be a few different authors, I’m not sure. But the script isreally quite something. The diary dates from 1918, 19 and 20 and I’m not sureof his/her name but the common initials are H. E. N. There are a total of 62pages of handwriting and most of those have to do with a trip taken to the Adirondacks, which I’ll get to in a minute. On the first19 pages of the diary there are handwritten quotes, sayings and notes. Mosthave a religious tone about them. The name Dr. Frank Crane is on one of themand I found out that he was a Presbyterian minister, speaker and columnist whowrote a set of ten volumes of “Four Minute Essays” which were published in1919. Then the name John Sterling is on one of them. Then on another page itsays, “When convenient for you. Please call at 57 West Ave. Norwalk Conn. In the rear of Church (R.R.) andborrow a copy of “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” by “Mary BakerEddy”. Study this book and I know your cup will be filled to overflowing. H. E.N.”

I found the veryfirst pages and its notes the most intriguing of the 19 pages of notes and inpart it says…..

“5-18-18,Each individual lives in a world of his own making and is the center ofattraction toward the race thoughts. To adjust his world he must work both fromthe within and the without but is more concerned with the realm of thought thanwith the effects. An important step in thought control is to think of thatwhich you desire to come to pass. Thoughts are things in the invisible. Thingsare thoughts made manifest……”

This goes on foranother page, along with several others like it. After that are 43 pages ofdiary entries that give a fascinating account of a trip to the Adirondacks, as follows and I believe this portion iswritten by a woman…..
