So hard to find and getting harder each day! This beautiful antique textile is a jacquard woven blend of silk and cotton. The design is of fabulous intertwined flowers, and classic shells and swirls. The edge is of overcast machine stitching in black and gold. As beautiful as an antique textile can be. There are a few storage wrinkles, there\'s wear along the center fold of the runner as the result of decades of storage while being folded. (See photo #11.) Gentle steam will remove the wrinkles. The jewel tones woven into a black background are a striking combination. It\'s a very usable and versatile size of approx 12 1/2\" by                    48\". I found a huge collection of these popular, \"19 teens\" through the 1930\'s runners and doilies, in a wide variety of jacquard woven fabrics on a rare buying trip in 1990. The amazing thing about this piece and the collection, is that they had been stored in a trunk, a dowery trunk, from which this was a part. I found the trunk and it\'s contents near Montreal Quebec on one of the few buying trips I was ever fortunate enough to take. The fact that the contents had been stored out of sunlight and UV rays, preserved them  in an almost perfect condition. The colors are truly JEWEL Like Colors . . . colors like true blue, lavender, cream, peachy pink and rose on a bold black background. The design is a transitional design of a combination of Art Deco and Art Nouveau. It\'s fabulous. There\'s no evidence this was ever used, no marks or circles to indicate anything was set on the piece. The wrinkles, which aren\'t damaging, are easily removed. It can be a centerpiece or a runner.
