With original paint
(not repainted later!)Famous Danish design by RAADVAD, probably from the 1930s or 1940s.This is an old model. It still has some of its gold coloring on the letters and the crown.
On the shape of the wooden handle you can see this is the older model.Model no 294.This bread slicer works great for slicing dark bread, especially rye bread which we eat a lot in Denmark.
It would also look great just for display or as a small shelf for your cooking books.

Good used condition.
The blade needs to be sharpened but is almost free of rust.
Great patina with some paint loss and some rust normal to age - see images.

They started making bread slicers in 1924 and made a new model in 1939 which almost didn\'t change afterwards. Around the 1970s the design was simplified a little but looks very much like the model from the 20s. The company still exists.

And so began an era of developing and producing all manner of kitchen utensils.The little industrial community based next to Mølleåen in the north of Denmark (North Zeeland), had just 150 inhabitants at the start of the 19th century. 78 of which were working for the innovative company Raadvad.1924 saw the company change its production to the exclusive manufacture of knives and bread knives. They started making bread slicers in 1924 and made a new model in 1939 which almost didn´t change afterwards.
