Fabulous vintage 1920s Egyptian Revival tent or wall hanging with figural appliqués. Figures pieces from cotton, stocked on wool ground. Four figures approach the seated Pharaoh, far right holding the crook and flail, with the Ankh- symbol for eternal life- to the left of his head. Court figures kneel and bear gifts, trailed by the bird-headed God-- Horus, national symbol of Ancient Egypt. Fabulous hand stitched work.
