Hutchinson to Postmaster at Caspiana,in Caddo Parrish, Louisiana. Document isinvery good condition with foxing and one tear at the top. (see photos)After a year in office,HAYS resigned to become the choice of the Hollywood movie studios to become the first president of the Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America (MPPDA) (1922–45).

Greatpiece of Americanato add to anydocument Harrison Hays, Sr. (November 5, 1879 – March 7, 1954), namesake of the Hays Code for censorship of American films, was chairman of the Republican National Committee (1918–21) and U.S. Postmaster General (1921–22).

Hays was born in Sullivan, Indiana. He was the manager of Warren G. Harding\'s successful campaign for the Presidency of the United States in the 1920 election and was subsequently appointed Postmaster General. After a year in office, he resigned to become the choice of the Hollywood movie studios to become the first president of the Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America (MPPDA) (1922–45). In the postwar period, this organization would be renamed the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA).
