1922 Antique Gorham Co. Edison Electric, New York Butler Bronze 4-3/4\" Statue
- This near antique whimsical statue was cast in bronze by Gorham, CO. for the New York Edison Electric Company in 1922.
- It depicts an almost cartoonish Thomas Edison as a butler holding a tray with a light bulb on it.
- Surrounding the light bulb on the tray is the inscription \"COMPLIMENTS OF THE NEW YORK EDISON COMPANY\".
- The base of the statue is bronze and has the inscriptons; \"FORTY YEARS AT YOUR SERVICE SEPTEMBER 4, 1882-1922\" and \"GORHAM CO.\" (with four indecipherable letters/numbers following).
- This very amusing statuette might have been modelled by an in-house artist at Gorham\'s, based on a design by Maxfield Parrish (who favored the satirical at times in his illustrations).
- The patina on this statue is excellent.
- The statue weighs just over 2lbs.
